Abstract

Toe-walking in children can lead to deleterious effects. While this problem effects many children, no single solution has been turned to. Serial casting is one potential intervention. However, it has not been thoroughly researched. This paper attempts to critically appraise an article directly related to the effectiveness of serial casting for children with idiopathic toe-walking and spastic cerebral palsy. By addressing the strengths and weaknesses of the article, we can better understand how useful the intervention actually is on treating toe-walking. And after careful analysis, one can conclude that serial casting helps children attain normal gait patterns.
