Abstract

Brenda Norton was born in Fort Sam Houston, Texas, to a military family, and as such, lived in several bases until finally settling down in San Antonio, TX during junior high. Her first job was in retail, and she attended several Texas colleges for her bachelors, masters, doctorate, and law school. She discusses her father, a World War II veteran, who was a bomber navigator in the European theater. Norton notes that he and other veterans rarely discussed their experiences, and talks about a specific instance where her father divulged information about his wartime experience- specifically on ground communication. She gives a brief summary of his post-war military career, her opinion on foreign conflicts and divided society based on history, and the effects World War II had on America.
