Abstract
Emsy and Annie Justice Swaim lived in Eden, Texas and were partners of a law firm, Swaim and Swaim, in Concho County. Emsy Swaim was an avid history buff. The Swaim Collection can be roughly divided into two main areas: Texas history and the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Temple Houston, son of Sam Houston, and John Wilkes Booth are well covered in the material. Within these areas of interest are original and copied materials, correspondence, manuscripts, photographs and monographs. Monographic materials have been placed in the Porter Henderson Library stacks, the West Texas Collection stacks and in closed stacks.
