Woodrow Barber Collection

Woodrow Barber was a graduate of Mason High School, attended San Angelo College (now Angelo State University) and the University of Texas. He worked as a clerk at the Austin Municipal Airport before joining the Army Air Force and was trained in administrative work at Fort Logan, Colorado. Following the U.S. entry in the Second World War, Barber served in the China-Burma-India Theatre for 33 months with the 341st Bomb Group as an Administrative NCO. After he returned to the United States, he was stationed at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas and married his longtime sweetheart Sibyl Eastman. This collection includes a wide array of documents and artifacts from his service, including letters to Sibyl Eastman, official papers, photographs, newspaper clippings, and a blood chit.
